It is with great excitement that I announce on behalf of the ACPP, that our College has been accept as a member of the Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA). ACPP is the first paramedic organisation to be granted membership of this prestigious association. ACPP will become the 20th Member of AHPA.

It is with great excitement that I announce on behalf of the ACPP, that our College has been accept as a member of the Allied Health Professions Australia (AHPA).  ACPP is the first paramedic organisation to be granted membership of this prestigious association. ACPP will be the 20th Member of AHPA.

So why is this membership of the AHPA so important in the development of a Paramedic Practitioner Model and supporting Paramedics who already practice primary healthcare?

AHPA provides ACPP access to the following;

  • Seat at the table of government policy agenda
  • Representation on government advisory groups
  • Input to government submissions and consultations
  • Direct access to a wide variety of health industry groups
  • Strategic alliances with other health organisations
  • A collaborative network of clinically focused organisations
  • Membership to AHPA committees and working groups
  • Representation on various national bodies;
    • Australian Allied Health Leadership Forum
    • National Rural Health Alliance
    • National Aged Care Alliance
    • Consumers Health Forum of Australia

November has been an amazing month for ACPP with announcements of a number of firsts including;

  • Income Protection and Accident Insurance for Paramedics who work outside ambulance services
  • Deakin Medicine beginning the selection of the first intake into the Master of Advanced Clinical Practice – Paramedicine Practitioner (applications close: 14 January 2021)
  • The ACPP-BankVic Scholarships to support student who are studying towards their Paramedic Practitioner qualifications
  • A review and change of constitution
  • A surge in membership

The ACPP would like to thank Vice President, Paramedic Greg Reburn FACPP, on the hard work he has done to achieve this milestone for our College.
