Paramedic Advanced Practice Consultation

Paramedicine Board of Australia - Advanced Practice Public Consultation

Are you aware that the Paramedicine Board of Australia is conducting a public consultation as part of its proposal to regulate advanced practice paramedics?

Health Ministers have indicated their interest in the Paramedicine Board of Australia establishing regulations for advanced practice paramedics and enabling independent prescribing outside of ambulance services. The Board has conducted a study to explore the role of advanced practice paramedics in Australia.

The Paramedicine Board of Australia proposes regulating advanced practice paramedics and invites your feedback on the proposal.

AIPP is also putting in its own submission for this public consultation. However, we would like to encourage all members and anyone they think could help across their own health networks to put in a submission as well.

Making a submission

The Paramedicine Board of Australia would like your feedback about specific questions. There are multiple ways in which you can provide your feedback. These include via links directly below that take you to online surveys to complete or by downloading word templates (links below) and then emailing them the provided email address below also.

You are invited to provide feedback by:

Upon completion of the survey there is an option to save a copy of your responses for your records.

For further information, please email paramedicineconsultation@ahpra.gov.au

The consultation closes Friday, June 20, 2025, so there is still plenty of time to submit your submission and be part of the transformation AIPP has been advocating for since we started. This is such a big step forward, and it is from members like you that we can make this change happen.

Please reach out if you have any questions via info@acpp.net.au and thank you in advance for participating in this exciting public consultation for the paramedicine profession, focusing on advanced practice.
